How old do toddlers have to be to start hockey?
We accept 4 year olds in our LITTLE CANES - LEARN TO PLAY Program.
We also accept 3 year olds who will be 4 by March 31st in the LITTLE CANES - LEARN TO PLAY Program HOWEVER if they return to play in the following season they are only eligible to participate in the LITTLE CANES - LEARN TO PLAY program again as a 4 year old.
We are moving to the Lethbridge area. What are the boundaries to play in Lethbridge Minor Hockey?
On our website under the INFORMATION tab there is a ZONE MAP. Lethbridge Minor Hockey is in Zone 5 and our boundaries do not include any surrounding towns, but there is some area outside of the city limits that are within the Lethbridge Minor Hockey Association boundaries. If after looking at the map you can ask for further detail on a specific land location if you email it to LMHAREG@TELUS.NET
How do you change your email address on your profile
In the Hockey Canada Registry you log in to your account and under Account Management you can change your email address (this will also change your user name for that site). If you have already registered you need to email your change of email address request along with your child's / children's names and birthdays to LMHAREG@TELUS.NET and the Registrar will change it on the profile for your child / children.
Just registered my son for Little Canes - Learn to Play, When does the season start for that?
Around the Thanksgiving weekend depending on when it falls, but usually just after Thanksgiving.
I was interested I entering my son for hockey and was wondering if it was too late?
Minor Hockey Associations in Alberta can accept player registrations up to January 10th of each year - provided they have an available spot for the child to play. Sometimes programs fill and we do not have an available spot to accept more children so registering early is recommended.
My 9 year old Son mentions that he would like to try Hockey. What programs are available for older kids to try hockey to see if they are interested? Please let me know Thanks Dave
The First Shift program is one that offers an introduction to hockey for children who are trying it at a bit older age. Information about First Shift is available at www.firstshift.ca
Where do I find my hockey ID number?
On the registration receipt received via email after successful registration, there is a line with the child's name, year of birth and Hockey ID number

I am new to Minor Hockey what do we have to do to get started?
Welcome to Lethbridge Minor Hockey!
Our registration is all online and you can do it from the convenience of your home at any time.
The first step is to complete the Respect in Sport Parent Course. This is an online course that Hockey Alberta has made mandatory for all families to have and it must be re-certified every 4 years. CLICK HERE FOR THE LINK TO THE COURSE.
Upon successful completion of this course the adult will receive a certificate and the child will get a hockey account and a hockey ID number assigned to them.
Then you can proceed with the online registration.

Create an account.
Put in your child's name and birthday - you do not need to put in the hockey ID number
DO NOT CHECK OFF THE NEW PARTICIPANT button.
SUBMIT / OKAY
Your child's record will pop up at the bottom with a REGISTER NOW beside it.
Choose the register now and follow the steps. If there is missing information there will be a small red asterix beside the area needing more information.
Upon completion of successful registration you will be emailed a receipt.
